Life before

Before leaving for Israel, Uthai lived in Charoen Mueang, Phan District, Chiang Rai. He began agricultural work in Israel on December 3, 2019. His father lived in the family home, and Uthai’s elder sister followed news about him.

Abduction

On October 7, 2023, Uthai’s father lost contact with him. The family later learned that Uthai had been taken hostage in Israel; his elder sister followed reports while they waited.

Captivity

Uthai remained away from home through November. His father later recalled that, for nearly two months, the family could not establish normal contact with him.

Return

Uthai was named among ten Thai hostages released on November 24. He flew to Thailand and reached Suvarnabhumi Airport on November 30, then continued to his home in Chiang Rai.

His father and relatives welcomed him at home. His father said the family could sleep soundly again.
