The story

Tevel Avraham was born in Moshav Bitha on 5 September 2002, the son of Tiferet and Avigad and brother of Keter and Argaman. He attended Nehalim Elementary School in the Merhavim Regional Council and the Marom Ofakim religious high school. He loved running and played football for the moshav's youth team. As part of his community service requirement, he volunteered with the fire service. After high school, he attended the pre-military academy in Beit El, preparing for the combat service he hoped to undertake.

In November 2021 he enlisted in Givati and trained in the Tzabar Battalion. In February 2023 he began a Namer armored personnel carrier commanders' course, and devoted time to maintaining the vehicle even at the expense of his rest. On the morning of 7 October, while on leave, he took his personal weapon and went out to defend the moshav. He later took part in the fighting and was wounded, but continued serving. In May 2024, when his regular service ended, he moved directly into continuous reserve service and remained with his unit.

The local report of his death described a determined and well-loved soldier, modest by nature, who made a deep impression on those around him. The article recalled his transition from regular service to the reserves and his participation in the war to defend his home. In reporting his death, the site gave the names of his parents and sisters and described the grief of those who knew him. Tevel was only 22, and his family and moshav were bidding farewell to a young man who had completed his regular service only a short time before.

On 26 September 2024, Tevel was killed in a motorcycle accident while on leave from reserve duty, following consecutive days of service in Gaza. According to the local report, the accident occurred near Yakhini. Hours before his death, he had attended a memorial for his friends Nehorai Sa'id and Roi Guri. He fell during his service in the war on 23 Elul 5784 and was laid to rest in Bitha. He was posthumously promoted from staff sergeant to sergeant first class. He is survived by his parents and two sisters, and is commemorated at the Givati Brigade memorial center at the Yoav Fortress. May his memory be a blessing.
