Elad Reuveni

Elad Reuveni was born in Holon on 16 Kislev 5746, 29 November 1985, the son of Rivka and David and brother of Gali and Idan. He married Daniel. The family details on the Izkor website and the remembrances written in his memory preserve the names of his relatives and of people who knew him at different times in his life.

On 13 October 2023 Elad was called up for reserve service and served in the infantry. The rank under which he is commemorated is master sergeant. On 27 Tevet 5784, 8 January 2024, he fell in combat, aged thirty-eight. He was laid to rest in the military section of the Modi'in cemetery and is survived by his wife, parents and siblings.

In May 2024, Idan Reuveni wrote about the four months that had passed without his beloved brother. He described how songs reminded him of Elad, and how his hand would almost instinctively begin writing a message to someone who would no longer reply. His words describe the longing present even in everyday actions and the effort to fill the emptiness left behind with thoughts.

Maayan remembered Elad's ability to offer encouragement and find the right words, and the smiles he brought with him. Avi Hoshmand wrote about his wisdom and talent, and the difficulty of finding words to contain the pain. Nahum Parshitzky, who had been his neighbor for a short time, said he was always glad to see him. Moti Kiani sought to comfort his parents and family and recalled how loved he was. Each dedication adds a different personal memory to his portrait.

Remembrances continued to be written on the website in the years after his death. Efi Barel wrote that no national Memorial Day was needed to remember Elad, and in a dedication from January 2026, Uri Ladel announced that the daily Talmud study was being dedicated to his memory. Alongside the brief life story, the words of relatives and acquaintances are thus preserved, expressing love, absence and longing. May his memory be a blessing.
